D.C. United have agreed terms with KVC Westerlo in the Belgian First division for the acquisition of Homegrown forward Griffin Yow.

Yow signed as the 12th Homegrown signing in D.C. United history on March 19, 2019 at 16-years-old after impressive performances for Loudoun United FC. The winger played in a total of 18 games for Loudoun United FC, netting three goals. Yow subsequently made his D.C. United and MLS debut on April 21, 2019 in a 2-0 loss to New York City FC. He netted his first goal for the club on Sept. 20, 2020, against Toronto FC in a 2-2 tie. In total, Yow played in 36 games across all competitions scoring three goals and recording an assist.
This season, the Virginia native has played in a total of nine games across all competitions for D.C. United, starting in three MLS games and both of the team's US Open Cup games.
Born in Clifton, Va., Yow spent four years with the D.C. United Academy (2016-2019) and scored 41 goals in 68 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) appearances. The winger has been called up to the U.S. Youth National Team multiple times including the 2018 U-17 Nike Friendlies, the 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, and the 2019 U-17 World Cup. He scored his first national team goal on October 14, 2018 in 3-2 friendly win against Brazil. Altogether, Yow has played in 14 games and scored six goals for his country.
