D.C. United Agree Terms with S.K. Beveren for the permanent transfer of Moses Nyeman

WASHINGTON, DC (August 29, 2022) ā€“ D.C. United have agreed terms with S.K. Beveren in the Belgian second division for the acquisition of Homegrown midfielder Moses Nyeman. The Black-and-Red will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee for Nyeman.Ā 

ā€œWe wish Moses all the best as he takes the next step in his soccer career,ā€ Dave Kasper, D.C. United President of Soccer Operations, said. ā€œHe is a very talented soccer player and wonderful person who we have enjoyed working with and seeing his growth from our Academy to the first team.ā€

Nyeman signed with D.C. United as a Homegrown on Oct. 3, 2019 at 15-years-old after an impressive stint with the Black-and-Redā€™s United Soccer League (USL) Championship affiliate, Loudoun United FC. He made his MLS debut for D.C. United as a 79th-minute substitute against the Philadelphia Union on Aug. 29, 2020. In three seasons with the Black-and-Red, Nyeman recorded three assists in 32 appearances (17 starts). In 2022, Nyeman made two appearances (two starts). His last appearance came in the 1-0 win against FC Cincinnati on March 5, 2022.

Born in Liberia, Nyeman has been a member of the D.C. United academy since 2015 at the U-12 level. The midfielder has appeared in 83 games (70 starts) for the Black-and-Red. Nyeman has scored 10 goals for United's Academy and his impressive performances earned him a call-up to the U.S. U-16 Boys' National Team Training Camp in 2018.
