D.C. United has announced that Homegrown forward Michael Seaton has been selected to the Jamaica Men’s National Team roster for an upcoming friendly against Japan on Oct. 10 in Niigata, Japan.
Seaton has eight appearances and two goals for the senior Jamaican side. He most recently scored in a 2-1 defeat to Serbia in May. He earned his first cap in November 2013 against Trinidad & Tobago, and he scored his first goal in a 5-0 win over St. Lucia in March 2014.
Seaton has made two appearances for D.C. United in 2014, including a start in a 3-3 draw at Chicago on Sept. 20. He also had three goals in eight appearances on loan with the Richmond Kickers, D.C. United’s USL PRO affiliate.
A D.C. United Youth Academy product who was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Seaton signed with the First Team on Jan. 14, 2013, becoming the fifth Homegrown player to sign with the Black-and-Red, and the first MLS player to be born after the league began play.
