United goalkeeper Bill Hamid and midfielder Luciano Acosta have earned spots on Major League Soccer's ballot for the 2017 Landon Donovan Most Valuable Player award.
Hamid has remained a brick wall between the posts for United, tallying 98 saves in his 24 games played. The Homegrown has posted shutouts against New England, Atlanta, Colorado, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Kansas City this season, and continues to be a frontrunner for the most saves in the league.
Acosta has also continued to prove himself as one of the most valuable members of United's arsenal, scoring five goals and adding four assists to help drive the Black-and-Red attack. A clever and dangerously quick midfielder, the Argentine also earned a spot on MLS' best 24 under 24 list for the second consecutive year, coming in at number 21.
Below is the list of all 53 players named to the ballot for the 2017 Landon Donovan Most Valuable Player award. Complete ballots for other MLS awards will be released over the coming days by Major League Soccer. Finalists (three per award) will be announced on Tuesday, October 31.
