United midfielder Júnior Moreno has been called up to the Venezuelan National Team for their upcoming matches versus Basque and the United Arab Emirates. Venezuela take on Basque on Friday, Oct. 12 at Alavés' Mendizorrotza in Spain, and the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Estadio Olimpico de Montjuïc in Spain.
Moreno joined the Black-and-Red on Jan. 2, 2018, and has played 14 matches and recorded two assists during his first MLS season. The Venezuelan frequently pairs with Russell Canouse in the defensive midfield, and has served as a steadying presence for United on the defensive side of the ball. This is the midfielder's second call-up of the year—he also reported for international duty in early September.
Moreno will join fellow MLS players Rolf Feltscher (LA Galaxy), Jefferson Savarino (Real Salt Lake), Ronaldo Peña (Houston Dynamo), and Josef Martínez (Atlanta United) on international duty with Venezuela during the FIFA window.
