United midfielder Luciano Acosta has been nominated for AT&T Goal of the Week for his goal in the 25th minute against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, August 28. All three of the five-foot-three Argentine's goals have been nominated; he won for his first career MLS goal (a lofted chip against the New England Revolution on April 23).
The Argentinian put the finishing touch on a fluid attacking team move that opened the scoring for the Black-and-Red ahead of a 6-2 rout. Patrick Nyarko collected a pass from Marcelo just inside the Fire's penalty area and backheeled the ball to the onrushing Brazilian, who then squared it for Acosta.
The goal was Acosta's second in his last three matches. The Buenos Aires native also tied a franchise record for assists in a single game with three. Vote by using the bracket below or clicking here.
