D.C. United are set to play in their first-ever Leagues Cup match and the squad have traveled to Montréal's Stade Saputo to kick off their trophy hunt. Wednesday night's match will be the third game played between D.C. United and CF Montréal in 2023, with the Black-and-Red winning 1-0 in Montreal on April 15, and then earning a draw at home on May 31.
In Montréal's first match of Leagues Cup, Montréal topped Pumas UNAM after a 4-2 penalty shootout. After 90 minutes of regular time, the score was 2-2 with Montreal's goals being scored by Bryce Duke and Mathieu Choinière.
