Story of the Match

D.C. United will look to add another tally to their win column when they host CF Montréal at Audi Field on Saturday at 7:30 PM. D.C. currently sits in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. They'll face a Montreal team fresh off a week's rest but coming off a disappointing 4-3 loss to Chicago Fire on March 16 that saw Raheem Edwards get sent off in the 82nd minute. With Montreal in sixth place, a three-point swing early in the season could slide both sides multiple places in the standings. 

The Black-and-Red also welcome back their players from international duty including Aaron Hererra, Matti Peltola, Kristian Fletcher, and Matai Akinmboni. With Ted Ku-DiPietro returning from injury and Pedro Santos serving his one-game suspension against St. Louis City SC, Head Coach Troy Lesesne will have a strong roster to select from for the match. 

D.C. United have also announced that the club and iHeartMedia Washington D.C. have extended their partnership to continue delivering a local radio broadcast for all Major League Soccer regular season matches. Radio broadcasts will be available live on 1190 iHeart Sports DC, 104.7 FM, 101.1 HD2 and the iHeartRadio App. As part of the partnership, legendary broadcaster Dave Johnson, who has called games for D.C. United since the club’s inception in 1996 will return to the booth alongside Bruce Murray, former United States National Team player (1985-1993, 85 caps and 21 goals) and DMV native who partnered Johnson on radio calls in 2023.
