Nashville’s third goal came from a shot from outside the box by Hany Mukhtar in the 37th minute. United cut the lead to 3-2 when Ola Kamara scored his 11th goal of the season on a volleyed effort after a clever pass by Paul Arriola in the 41st minute.
United pushed for the equalizer in the second half, but it was Nashville who restored their two-goal lead in the 80th minute from a goal by second-half substitute, Alex Muyl. Muyl then scored his second of the night late in the match from the penalty spot and the match ended 5-2 in favor of Nashville SC.
