Mullins and Acosta named to MLS Team of the Week | Week 25

United forward Patrick Mullins has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for his three-goal performance against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, Aug. 27, while Luciano Acosta made the bench with a three-assist, one goal showing.  The Argentine opened the scoring for the Black-and-Red in the 25th minute, capping some impressive build-up play between Marcelo and Patrick Nyarko inside the penalty area.  Mullins scored United's first hat trick since June 11, 2014, scoring in the 40th minute before adding a second in added time just before the break.

The Louisiana native is now the team's leading scorer with five goals and is averaging a goal or an assist every 75 minutes with the Black-and-Red. Acosta, who has played over 1600 minutes for the club in his first MLS season, is the team's leader in assists with seven and is averaging a goal or an assist every 160 minutes. The two combined for the third and fifth goals of the night. "Heā€™s got so much talent that if you move, heā€™ll find you," Mullins said about Acosta after the match.
