United forward Patrick Mullins has been nominated for AT&T Goal of the Week for his game-tying goal against the New York Red Bulls Sunday, August 21. Only three minutes after Marcelo buried a penalty kick to cut the deficit to one goal in the 70th minute, Taylor Kemp swung in a corner to the back post, where Steve Birnbaum headed the ball back across the face of goal and Mullins rose highest to score his second Black-and-Red goal.
The nomination is Mullins' second as a member of D.C. United; his goal against the Montreal Impact in Week 21 was also up for the weekly accolade.
