Paul Arriola has been called-up to the U.S. Menā€™s National Team 40-man provisional roster for this summerā€™s Gold Cup. The U.S. will be assessing players ahead of the upcoming CONCACAF tournament, where the Americans will be looking to repeat their championship after winning their sixth title in 2017.

Arriola has 21 caps and three goals for the U.S. team. He started in both friendlies in March, playing 66 minutes against Chile and 77 minutes against Ecuador. In February, he scored the second goal against Costa Rica, solidifying the United Statesā€™ 2-0 win.

Arriola was part of the U.S. youth system, starting with the U-14 team. He made his senior team debut against Puerto Rico on May 22nd, 2016. He has been called into the last three camps, receiving playing time in all matches.

Arriola has often been hailed as a versatile player at D.C. United. While he bounces between defender and attacking midfield with the Black-and-Red, he serves as a striker for the Red, White, and Blue. Despite spending some time on the backline this season, Arriola has scored three goals for D.C. United so far this season and has started in all but one match (where he was used as a sub).
