- United midfielder Yamil Asad made his return from injury and made his first start for the Black-and-Red since starting on Aug. 26 against the New York Red Bulls.
- Luciano Acosta scored his ninth goal of the season in the 17th minute. Acosta has scored four goals in his last five games.
- Asad tallied his seventh assist of the season when he assisted Acosta's goal.
- United midfielder Paul Arriola scored his second brace of the season when he scored in the 61st and 78th minutes. The brace was Arriola's first since scoring two in the first game in Audi Field's history, a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

- Asad recorded his second assist of the game when he assisted on Rooney's goal.
- United goalkeeper Bill Hamid recorded his second clean sheet of 2018 and his first since United's 2-0 win over the New England Revolution on Aug. 19.
