United head coach Ben Olsen
Overall thoughts on the matchā€¦

"[New Yorkā€™s] a hard team to get anything out of because they put you under so much pressure and move the ball very efficiently, but I thought overall we dealt with it pretty well. Iā€™m proud of the response after we went downā€”it would've been an easy one to fold, but I think you can see a bit of the difference of the mentality in this group and the guys understood there was still life in this game and something to take out of it. The subs did a very good job, all of them really helped the game. Itā€™s a good point."

On Mullinsā€™ performance and his five goals in two matchesā€¦

ā€œHe was sharp in the second half. Itā€™s always tough as a striker because youā€™re up there alone and youā€™re responsible to bring the group into the game by holding balls up or running off the ball in transition, but he always makes sure heā€™s in the spot to score goals, and thatā€™s what you want. Obviously heā€™s got higher confidence now...itā€™s nice to have a hot forward, and that hasnā€™t always been the case this year."

On not focusing on standings at this point in the seasonā€¦

ā€œWhen we prepared for this trip, we talked about using these next three games to really focus on how to get results on the road. Going into next year weā€™re going to be on the road for a while. This is like a dress rehearsal for that portion of the season because you have to get results to stay in it for those first four or five months. It takes a fully committed group to go get something on the road and in the second half we did a pretty good job at that."

United midfielder Marcelo Sarvas
On Unitedā€™s recent performancesā€¦

"I think in the last six games weā€™ve been where we want to be. The concern today was getting the lead, then when we were leading the game 2-1 we wanted to keep it, and then we lost the lead, but the team showed a lot of character to come back. We kept playing the same way, we werenā€™t desperate when we had the ball and we created our chances."

On whether luck played into Unitedā€™s comebackā€¦

ā€œPartially, but the game goes both ways, and when you keep trying things happen. Things happened for us and against us. We had the cards to push forward and we came back and earned a result.ā€

United goalkeeper Steve Clark
On his save against Bradley Wright-Phillipsā€¦

"I thought I had a good chance at it. I stood my spot and came out with a save.ā€

On acclimating with Unitedā€¦

"Iā€™ve always been a goalkeeper in this league to make big saves. Itā€™s good to do that, but Iā€™m here for organization so I donā€™t have to make so many saves. I want my leadership to seep into the team so we donā€™t have to draw 3-3, and we can get some 1-0 or 2-0 shutouts like last week or on Saturday. But I can also make saves, and thatā€™s part of my game as well."

On working on keeping the lead and creating momentumā€¦

"Weā€™re building a lot and weā€™ve got some momentum going for next year. We have a lot of good guys coming in and there are still things weā€™re working on, and keeping the lead is one of those things. When youā€™re up 2-1 at Red Bull Arena you want to stay that way and we didn't, but I feel like weā€™re still building a lot right now."

New York Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch
On why some of these individual break downs keep happening and some of the mistakes from a team that's pretty much a veteran group...

"Yeah, well, I don't, to be honest. There's little things tactically that sometimes we can be a little bit better. But, again, we're commanding every game we play. Every single game we play, we're pretty much controlling the game the way we want to control it. But we have to work so hard for our chances, and then when we do score, it seems like we find ways to literally just give goals away. Until we come up with a better solution that involves dealing better with moments in both boxes, we are going to be continuing to kick ourselves. So that's where we're at."

On what he thinks the team has to do to sort of regenerate...

"Yeah, we have to find a way. It's one of these games where it's probably best to play again right away because the feeling is so sickening. So we have to regenerate. We have to find a way to put fresh legs on the field. It's the best team in the league at their place. It won't be easy. So, you know, we've got to get back on the horse. Back on the horse and go after it again."

On the psyche of the team...

"These guys show up game after game. Game after game they show up and they play, and they give everything they have and empty the tank. That's why I say you have to admire them. You have to, right? It's just I'm trying to figure out ways to help them be rewarded for all of the good things that they put into it. So ultimately, that's my task right now. Got to find a way to empower them to success, yeah."

On Tyler Adams...

"Amazing, amazing, amazing. Tyler Adams, amazing. Gets better every game, growing every game. What a pleasure to watch him. What a pleasure to coach him. Big-time player, amazing, amazing. Took the team on his shoulders."

On how Royer came in today in his first game back in a while...

"He's got to get up to full fitness and everything, but he's back. Was excited to get him back in the game. I think a high probability that he starts on Saturday, so it's no time like the present. We need Danny. We need Danny now, so it's good to have him back. That is a big positive."

New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams

On his first two-goal game...

ā€œExcited. One was for the lead, one was for the tie, so it was good. A good feeling. But, ultimately, the three points is the most important thing, and we didnā€™t happen to come away with those today.ā€

On if this draw will feel better in a few days...

ā€œI mean, weā€™ll see. The most important thing is now focusing on Toronto and aiming for three points there. We need to get as many points as we can in these next couple of games. But, I donā€™t think anybody in our locker room is stressed about not making the playoffs or anything like that. Weā€™re confident in our team, and weā€™re all determined enough to make it.ā€

On the overall defensive performance tonight...

ā€œI mean the mentality obviously is always to get a clean sheet. But we know thatā€™s not always going to be possible. Some of the goals we gave up, we take accountability for them, and we know we need to do better in these situations going forward.ā€

New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles

On the result...

ā€œI think any time we are in Red Bull Arena we donā€™t get three points it feels like a loss, especially when you are in a situation where you are up and then going late into time. I feel like all year weā€™ve been pretty good at closing games out especially here at home.ā€

On Tyler Adams...

ā€œTyler has been an important player this season. When you look at his development itā€™s not only important for him but for the entire team. As he continues to grow as a player, we know that there are still areas where heā€™s going to improve upon and one is the offensive piece. Tonight you were able to see how when heā€™s on full display what heā€™s able to do and how he can be dangerous. We are glad that he was on tonight because I think a lot of us werenā€™t necessarily on and he really bailed us out with his two goals.ā€

On what the defensive performance came down to...

ā€œFor us, it only came down to set pieces because I donā€™t think they got too many chances. For the most part, they just came down to dead ball situations and it's something that has been our Achilles heel: twenty goals against. It's something that we have to continue to improve on until the very last game going to the playoffs.ā€
