RFK Stadium was already 33 years old when D.C. United defender Jalen Robinson was born, so the Homegrown and Catonsville, MD, native, was already well versed in the stadiumās deep tradition by the time he joined the Black-and-Red.
Robinson did not hesitate naming his favorite player when asked about his United memories growing up.
āItās gotta start from when I was a kid coming to the game and seeing Jamie Moreno play,ā Robinson said of his earliest recollections of the Black-and-Red at RFK. āHe was my favorite player growing up.ā
The clubās all-time leader in goals and games played set a good example for the young player and gave him something to strive for through his training. And when Robinson made his MLS debut in June of 2016, he fully appreciated the rich tradition he was joining.
āItās been around forever,ā Robinson said. āItās just a historic place, a lot of trophies have been won here, there's a lot of history inside there.ā
