| Released | 2017 options for Chris Korb, Andrew Dykstra and Álvaro Saborío were declined on Dec. 12, 2016; all three are eligible for the Re-Entry Draft process. Luke Mishu retired. |
| Transfer | On Dec. 12, 2016, the Black-and-Red acquired the 21st pick in the 2nd Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for Kennedy Igboananike and one international roster slot until December 31, 2017. The international roster slot returns to United on Jan. 1, 2018. |
