United have acquired Bolivian forward Bruno Miranda on loan through 2018 with an option for a permanent transfer from Club Universidad de Chile. Completion of the transfer is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa.
āBruno is a young player who has a bright future in Major League Soccer,ā Dave Kasper, United general manager and VP of soccer operations, said. āWeāre happy to have secured a player with excellent physical and technical tools who can play as a forward or a wide midfielder."
Miranda, 19, has earned three caps with the national team and made his international debut against the U.S. on May 29, 2016, entering as a second-half substitute as an 18-year-old.
The five-foot-eleven-inch attacker recently broke into Universidadās first team, making several appearances for one of Chileās most successful franchises this spring en route to the clubās 2017 Clausura (Chilean spring season) victory. Miranda spent the previous two seasons in Universidadās youth system after starting his youth career at famed Bolivian youth academy Tahuichi, based in his hometown of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the same academy that produced former Bolivian United players Jaime Moreno, Marco Etcheverry and Juan Manuel PeƱa.
Miranda most recently played for the Bolivian national team on June 3 of this year in an international friendly against Nicaragua, starting and playing 90 minutes in a 1-0 victory.
