D.C. United are holding tryouts for their newly-formed U-9 and U-10 teams, both of which will start play this fall. The U-9 and U-10 teams will serve as a feeder system for the U-12 and U-13 Academy teams and ultimately carve a pathway for players to become part of D.C. United’s First Team.
The implementation of both the U-9 and u-10 team is an initiative by D.C. United to get in touch with younger players within the local area. “We are excited to extend our program to younger ages and begin to have an impact on younger players in our soccer community,” Nolan Sheldon, United’s Director of Youth Development, said. Both U-9 and U-10 teams will train twice a week and participate in local competitions during the weekends.
Tryout sessions for the U-9s and U-10s will be held on May 10th and May 24th. Any inquiries should be directed to United's Academy Coordinator, David Sanford.
