2016
In his fifth season with D.C. United, Dykstra started one match, the team’s opening game of the year in Los Angeles against the Galaxy. After dealing with injuries, the six-foot-four Virginia native started eight games for the Black-and-Red’s USL affiliate Richmond Kickers, making 25 saves and recorded a goals against average of 1.25.
2015
Dykstra once again proved steady as a regular season reserve and reliable starter in other competitions. He made his season debut in a 1-1 draw against Houston on Apr. 18. He also saved a penalty kick in a 3-1 win over Chicago on June 3. Dykstra started the first leg of the 2014-15 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, all four matches in the group stage of the 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League and two matches in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
2014
In his third season with the Black-and-Red, Dykstra made four starts, going 3-0-1 with two shutouts. Underwent season-ending surgery after rupturing his left Achilles tendon in an international friendly with Fulham F.C. on July 26.
2013
Dykstra had a stellar season on loan with D.C. United's USL PRO affiliate Richmond Kickers. The talented goalkeeper won USL Goalkeeper of the year after starting all 26 games played and helping the Kickers to the USL PRO semifinals. Dykstra finished the regular season with the league’s lowest goals against average (.863), and registered an impressive 10 shutouts in 22 appearances.
2012
Dykstra spent most of the 2012 campaign on loan with USL PRO side Charleston Battery. The goalkeeper made 23 appearances (23 starts), leading the Battery to a 12-6-2 record and winning the USL PRO title.
2009-2011
Andrew Dykstra signed with Chicago Fire in June 2009 after going undrafted out of college. He made his MLS debut on 3/27/10 in the season opener against the New York Red Bulls. The goalkeeper finished the season with a 5-6-6 record, five shutouts and a 1.28 goals-against average.
2011
Dykstra spent the 2011 season as a member of the Charleston Battery of USL Pro. Dykstra started each of the 16 matches he played in for the South Carolina side and led the league with a 0.98 goals-against average, while helping the Battery to an 8-6-2 record. For his efforts, Dykstra was awarded the club’s Betsy McAdams Newcomer of the Year award.
2005-2008
Dykstra played in 73 matches over four seasons, totaling more than 6,500 minutes with Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned All-CAA honors twice and finished his collegiate career with 18 career shutouts.
