Thank you for your interest in the D.C. United Academy. We are always looking for young talented players who have the passion, ability, and desire to pursue a pathway that may lead to a career in professional soccer with D.C. United.

SCOUTING

D.C. United Academy scouts observe games on a weekly basis and use a detailed, long-term talent identification model to discover our future players. Our scouts follow a strict communication pathway and always connect with a players’ current club first.

There will be no offering of private training or an alternative route into the D.C. United Academy. Anyone offering training as a way into a trial with the academy is not associated with D.C. United. If you are aware of this occurring, please inform us as soon as possible.

Individuals identified through scouting will be offered an opportunity to participate in a scheduled player trial or included within the appropriate age group team training.

Strict policies govern the scouting process, and the way scouts or members of our Academy Staff conduct themselves. On-field contact between a scout and player/parent is prohibited. Academy scouts are required to report any player identified to the D.C. United Academy Scouting Director.

Players interested in being considered for our Academy and who would like to coordinate one of our academy scout's attendances at your next match, please contact: academyscouting@dcunited.com.

Please include the following information in your email:
- Player’s birth year
- Date of birth
- Position
- Current team and coach
- Player’s phone number
- Player’s email address
- The zip code in which the player resides
- Highlight or game film
- Upcoming game schedule

Upon review of your email, we will contact you and your family to discuss the potential options for evaluation, see below.
- Scout player in a match
- Extended trial with D.C. United Academy team
- Participate in Talent Center/tryouts

Please note, all players may not receive a response due to a high volume of interest in the D.C. United Academy.
