D.C. United will be teaming with Bike to the Beach this year to give back to the community through a 2-wheeled food drive called Cranksgiving. The event, which takes place on Nov. 22 is part bike ride, part food drive, part Autism-awareness campaign and part scavenger hunt. That's an awful lot of awesome!
Participants should register online here(it's completely free to register), and then show up with a bike, a bag, a lock, a helmet and $15-$30 to purchase food. All food collected will benefit Miriam's Kitchen. Each team, consisting of a minimum of two members, must register and check-in at the start. They will then be given a map/manifesto with designated store locations marked and a shopping list. The team that racks up the most points, by visiting the checkpoints and purchasing the designated items, wins!
Make sure to look out for Talon along the way, and at the finish!
