United are looking for participants between the ages of 16-20 to become Unified Sports Partners, who are athletes without intellectual disabilities who train and compete in sports alongside their peers with intellectual disabilities. Unified Partners play a valuable role in enriching the lives of Special Olympics' athletes with intellectual disabilities by providing encouragement, understanding and support to help these athletes realize their potential.

Selected participants, who will become a part of the 2016 D.C. United SODC Unified Team to compete against other MLS-affiliated Special Olympics Unified Teams, will receive a full D.C. United kit and the opportunity to travel on an all-expenses-paid trip to Unitedā€™s away match against Columbus Crew SC on July 16.
