MLS Experience
2021: Yow started the season with an injury, missing seven games. His first game back with D.C. United was on June 20 in their 1-0 win over Inter Miami CF. Since then, the 19-year-old has made 11 appearances (one start), scored one goal, recorded one assist, and logged 232 minutes.
2020: After being called up from Loudoun United in the middle of the 2019 season, Yow played his first full season with D.C. United in 2020. The Homegrown forward appeared in 12 matches (four starts) and scored his first two MLS goals. The 18-year-old had five shots on target in 2020, which was tied for third most on the team. He mostly played on the right-wing in D.C. United’s attack, but also found himself playing on the left-wing and in the middle of the field throughout the season. His first MLS career goal came on Sept. 20 against Toronto FC to tie the match 2-2 in the 88th minute.
2019: After showing a lot of potential with Loudoun United, Yow was called up to D.C. United's first team. At just 16-years-old, Yow made his debut for the Black-and-Red as a substitute in the match against New York City FC on April 21. Yow started his first match for the Black-and-Red in the 2-0 defeat against FC Dallas on July 4. The young forward recorded his first goal for D.C. United in a friendly against Spanish side Real Betis on May 22.
Previous Experience
Griffin Yow spent four years with the D.C. United Academy (2016-2019) and scored 41 goals in 68 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) appearances. Yow spent the 2019 season going back and forth between the first team and Loudoun United. Yow made his professional debut for D.C. United’s new USL Championship affiliate, Loudoun United FC, as a 59th-minute substitute in their inaugural match as a club against Nashville SC on March 9. Yow started the following match against Memphis 901 FC and scored his first professional goal and the first goal in Loudoun United history in the 30th minute on the way to a 1-1 draw. Yow finished the season in the USL Championship with three goals in 15 appearances.
International Experience
The forward has been called up to the U.S. Youth National Team multiple times including the 2018 U-17 Nike Friendlies. Yow featured in four matches against England (3-1 loss, Oct. 12, 2018) Portugal (1-1 Tie, Nov. 28), Turkey (1-0 Win, November 30) and Brazil (1-1 Tie, Dec. 2). He scored the lone goals for the United States U-17 team in the draws against Portugal and Brazil. Yow was called up for the United States to represent his country at the U-17 World Cup. The forward featured twice in the group stages though the United States failed to advance in the tournament.

D.C. United signed Griffin Yow on March 19, 2019, as the 12th Homegrown player in club history.
