PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2017
The third-year MLS goalkeeper made five starts for United, making 14 saves in 450 minutes. Against Dallas on July 4, Worra made a season-best four saves, including one that earned him an MLS Save of the Week nomination. Worra made nine appearances for United’s USL affiliate the Richmond Kickers and recorded four clean sheets and saved a penalty.
2016
Travis Worra enjoyed a career season for the Black-and-Red, starting in 13 matches and recording four shutouts; a record that led the league in the first half of the season. The 23-year-old was nominated four times for MLS Save of the Week and his five saves in the 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls on May 13 earned him a spot in the MLS Team of the Week (Week 11).
2015
Worra played in one MLS match in his rookie season (32 minutes in Vancouver on April 25) and was also named D.C. United’s Humanitarian of the Year. He started 11 matches for the Richmond Kickers, United’s USL affiliate, making 28 saves and playing 900 minutes.
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
During his four-year college career at the University of New Hampshire, Worra started 59 of 60 games and finished with a record of 25-22-10. He is tied for second in program history in shutouts (21), third in wins and seventh in saves (234). He was named America East Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013 and was a first team All-America East selection, with six shutouts and a 0.55 goals against average.
BEFORE COLLEGE
Travis Worra led Hempfield High School to the PIAA Class AAA State title in 2010. As a senior, Worra compiled a school-record 157 saves on his way to 19 shutouts and a .357 goals against average. His stellar performance didn't go without merit, as Worra was named the Lancaster-Lebanon League Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight year. He had similar success in the classroom, earning honor roll status all four years, while also earning the Senior Soccer Scholar Award for having the highest GPA on the team as a senior. Worra recently played club soccer in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy for PA Classics and will join former PA Classics alumni Jordan Thomas (Mohnton, Pa.), Ryan McNabb (Downingtown, Pa.), Alex Russell (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Jeffrey Turner (Blandon, Pa.) at UNH. Prior to his time in the Development Academy, Worra was also a three-time EPA Olympic Development Program player.
