D.C. United is committed to the identification and development of Homegrown players. From our very first homegrown, to each player that follows, D.C. United is invested in bringing young players through to the first team.

The initial step on that pathway is the Regional Development School (RDS). A pre-academy feeder system, the Regional Development School, is a tryout based program focused on competitive training environments to drive and challenge players development.

Designed as a supplemental program, the RDS exists to compliment a players’ current training environment. Players remain registered with their clubs. The program is open to both boys and girls (ages 8 to 14).

The RDS offers players the opportunity to take ownership of their development and refine technical areas of the game with D.C. United’s professional coaches. The RDS curriculum is custom built for competitive and advanced level soccer players.
